Abstract
Based on the Three-dimensional Model of Discourse of Fairclough Theory (1992) and a self-built corpus, the present work aims to investigate the national image of China created by Chilean mainstream media through their reports about the development of the COVID-19 epidemic in China. In addition, this paper attempt to explore the roles political, economic, and cultural factors play in this situation, as well as other elements - including the ideology behind the construction of China's image.
